One of our most recent larger-scale events was the ETHCapeTown Hackathon in collaboration with the EthGlobal
and the Ethereum Foundation.
It was the first and at the time, the largest, blockchain hackathon on the continent of Africa. The event drew in high profile, international speakers, instructors and sponsors to the city. During this 3 day hackathon over 200 hackers created over 33 unique solutions to South African problems.
One of the most unique solutions to come out of our hackathon is Sebenzai
, which made a machine-learning algorithm to improve translations of all the beautiful native South African languages and uses the Ethereum blockchain for payments to translators who train the algorithm.
